he Saint-Gobain Vetrotex texturized and voluminized products
are produced by air jet texturizing and voluminizing of E-glass continuous filaments.



In the texturizing process, the glass yarns or strands are overfed in a nozzle in which an air stream creates a turbulence that causes the formation of loops and imparts a slight bulk.
The stability of the effect depends mainly on the friction and cohesion between the individual glass filaments.

In the voluminizing process, the glass yarns or strands are drawn trough a nozzle in which an air stream creates a turbulence that imparts a high bulk. Voluminized products can be in addition twisted and plied in order to give to the end product special properties.



Product type
Texturized products
The Turbofil products with its special properties are developed for high quality wall covering applications.

ECT is a texturized yarn for all round applications.
The  loops are smaller compared to the ones of   ECTE yarns.
Voluminized products
ECO yarns are voluminized glass filament strands.

The glass multiple wound voluminized yarns ECO   are  made of two or more glass voluminized yarns   ECO that are wound together on a paper tube without   being twisted together.


ECOS yarns are based on ECO yarns modified with a   twist. The yarn is manufactured either single or plied.

The texturized products are mostly used for wall covering and decorative fabrics.
The voluminized products are principally used for roofing, wall covering in weft direction, fabrics for thermal insulation, for profile drawing, brake and clutch lining etc..
