Saint-Gobain Vetrotex texturized and voluminized products
are produced by air jet texturizing and voluminizing of E-glass
continuous filaments.

  |
In the texturizing process,
the glass yarns or strands are overfed in a nozzle in which
an air stream creates a turbulence that causes the formation
of loops and imparts a slight bulk.
The stability of the effect depends mainly on the friction and
cohesion between the individual glass filaments. |
  |
In the voluminizing process,
the glass yarns or strands are drawn trough a nozzle in which
an air stream creates a turbulence that imparts a high bulk.
Voluminized products can be in addition twisted and plied in
order to give to the end product special properties.
