combined in a second twisting operation. Generally the twist level
does not exceed 180 turns per meter (4.6 turns/inch). For certain
applications,
such as fabrics for filtration of molten aluminium the required twist
level may be significantly higher and can reach up to 300 turns
per
meter (7.6 turns/inch).

Plied yarn:
2 single yarns with Z Twist plied together in S direction. |

The primary application
areas for plied yarns are: sleeving and braiding for electrical insulation,
PTFE coated fabrics in food processing and a variety of industrial
applications.
