Wind Energy Market

E-glass yarns, both Twisted and ZeroTwist®, are used extensively by wind blade manufacturers around the world.

These composites have been used to maximize wind generation of electrical power for many years. The various products we supply are used to strengthen, stiffen and stabilize the large blades used in wind generation (some as long as 60 meters/196 feet).

The strength of our fiberglass yarns, along with their ability to be combined with other fabrics, allow for the efficient manufacture of large wind-generating blades. Fiberglass also allows for the extreme contours of the blades, which efficiently harness the wind’s energy.

The technology associated with the manufacture of wind blades continues to evolve and E-glass will play a large role in the evolution toward increased efficiency and conversion to a sustainable energy source.
