Uses include:
- Insect screen and solar protection (interior and exterior); these yarns are coated with PVC
- Cement board for strength and to improve stability in a wet environment
- Drywall tapes to increase joint strength in drywall installation and repair
- Carpet seam tape as reinforcement to improve the tensile strength and dimensional stability
- Exterior Insulation and Finishing System (EIFS) for their high tensile and dimensional stability
- Vapor barriers and ducting
- Scrims made with fiberglass reinforcements protect flooring materials from expanding or shrinking with variations in temperature and humidity
- Glass fibers laminated with reflective aluminum foil improve the insulation value of metal building insulation and give the foil the tensile strength needed to allow for easy installation
